This past year was a pretty busy one for me. There was always something going on. Mike Dutra and the Strictly Sinatra Band had a regular gig on Wednesday nights for a good part of the year.  We finished at the Hi-Hat in 2010 expecting to return in April but unfortunately the Hi-Hat closed a few weeks before we were to start.  In June the band started at the Stage Door Lounge in Cranston, an engagement that lasted 20 weeks.  We ended the year at the 39W Restaurant and Lounge in  Cranston.   The band played many private and corporate gigs last year. Several of these gigs combined the Strictly Sinatra Band with the band “Triad”.  This combination proved quite popular with the dance crowd. 

I also had the good fortune to perform with several groups during  during the year including the Swing Fever Orchestra, the New Era Jazz Band, Ocean Bones and others  .One of the highlights was performing at Chan’s in Woonsocket with George Masso, Mike Renzi and Boots Maleson. Christmas Eve I performed at the Cathedral of Saints Peter and St Paul with a wind ensemble and choir. 

This year started with a gig in January with the Strictly Sinatra band at the Waldorf Astoria in NYC opening for Howie Mandel.  What a great start to a new year!!!

Dave performs throughout the RI/CT/MA region.  He performs with  Michael Dutra and the Strictly Sinatra Band.

Summertime

Here is Dave at age 11 performing with his first teacher, Sammy Sherman. Taking trombone lessons from a trombonist is very important.  Today, Dave has several students ranging in age from 12 to 57 years old. 

"I am always trying to learn and understand things that will help to make me a better teacher. I listen carefully to my students so that I can help them improve."
